TIU hosts the University of Misan (UoM)

Today, October 24th, 2024, marked a significant milestone for Tishk International University (TIU) as it warmly welcomed a distinguished delegation from the University of Misna led by Prof. Dr. Adel Manea Dakhel, the President. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Rashid Rahim Hatit, the Dean of the College of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Muntadhar Hanoun Dawood, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Al- Yasiri, the Dean of the College of Political Science and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Nasser Manati, the Director of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations. The visit, which took place from October 24th to 25th, 2024, culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering closer collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.

The University of Misan is an Iraqi  public university located in AmarahMaysanIraq. It was established in 2007.

Tishk International University was represented by key figures including Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, the Head of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, the President of TIU, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President of TIU, Prof. Dr. Hiwa Banna, the Dean of the faculty of Nursing, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdul Samad S. Ahmed, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and , and Asst. Prof. Dr. Jaafer Hussein, the Director of the International Relations Office. They officially received the delegation and engaged in a productive session that included presentations about both universities, academic discussion, university tour and gift exchange.
During the meeting, both parties discussed mechanisms for academic collaboration and explored opportunities for mutual cooperation. This fruitful dialogue led to the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, symbolizing the commitment of TIU and UoM to strengthen their partnership. The MoU outlines various areas of collaboration, including joint research initiatives, student exchange programs, faculty development, and more.
