On Internationalization Strategy

Tishk International University has devised a comprehensive internationalization strategy, aligned with the university’s overarching strategic plan to augment its profile, visibility, and brand recognition both nationally and internationally. The strategic plan delineates initiatives in institutional branding, outbound and inbound mobility, research collaboration, as well as curriculum and campus development, all designed to foster the growth, diversification, and enrichment of the university community.

As a higher education institution, Tishk International University follows global academic standards and mainly offers English-language study programs. The university actively encourages staff and student exchange programs, participates in international research collaborations, and engages in capacity-building initiatives with global partners. Tishk International University also belongs to international academic networks and associations, demonstrating its commitment to maintaining high standards of excellence in higher education.

The University’s efforts to internationalize are led by the Rector’s Office and coordinated by the International Relations Office. These efforts are carried out in consultation with faculties, departments, and research centers and are guided by the priorities of TIU’s Strategic Plan 2025–2030. The goal is to strengthen the University’s global brand and boost its international profile, positioning TIU as a leading hub for academic collaboration within Kurdistan-Iraq and beyond.

Key activities encompass establishing enhanced and substantive strategic partnerships with prominent international universities and organizations; facilitating outbound and inbound mobility for faculty and students; broadening international research and scholarship initiatives; securing external funding for research and associated projects; advancing the internationalization of the curriculum and campus environment; and developing joint and double-degree programs.
