TIU and AU Strengthen Ties with MoU Signing
Tishk International University (TIU) and Australian University (AU) held a significant virtual meeting on December 24, 2024, to strengthen academic and institutional collaboration. The meeting commenced at 10:00 AM and featured the participation of prominent representatives from both universities. From TIU Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head the Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of TIU; Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President; Dr. Fatih Cura, Vice President for Finance and Administration; Dr. Jwan J. Mohammedshareef, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Jaafer Hussein, Director of International Relations; and Dr. Soorkeu Abdulwahab, Head of the Aviation Department were participated. While from AU, Prof. Dr. Isam Zabalawi, President of Australian University; Dr. Ayad Salhieh, Assistant to the President for Student Relations; Dr. Mohammed Abdul Niby, Dean of the College of Engineering; Dr. Farid Abdallah, Dean of the College of Business; Prof. Allireza Ahmadi, Head of Aviation Academic Programs; Ms. Johanne Flynn, Manager of the International Relations Office; Ms. Marina Barsekhian, Assistant Manager of Public Relations; and Ms. Rasha Saadah, Office Manager were joint the meeting.
The Australian University, established in 2004 under the name “Australian College of Kuwait,” is one of the first private universities in the State of Kuwait. It offers world-class higher education through international learning partnerships, providing diploma and bachelor’s programs in engineering, business, aviation, and maritime studies.
During the meeting, both institutions presented comprehensive overviews of their respective universities and explored potential areas of collaboration. The discussions culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalizing their partnership and setting a framework for future cooperation.
They have agreed to organize joint conferences, facilitate the exchange of staff and students, particularly in the field of aviation, collaborate on research projects, and actively participate in each other’s academic and cultural activities.
This partnership underscores TIU and AU’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and enhancing academic excellence. The MoU serves as a pivotal step toward expanding opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers from both institutions.
