Student Exchange Seminar
The International Relations Office (IRO) at Tishk International University organized a Student Exchange Seminar on October 13, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the Education Building. The event brought together students interested in exploring international study opportunities and gaining insights into cultural adaptation and academic growth abroad.
The seminar began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Jaafer Hussein, Director of IRO, who underlined the importance of global engagement and encouraged students to take advantage of the exchange programs available through TIU’s international partnerships.
Faculty members enriched the discussion with talks on personal development and cultural acceptance. Dr. Taha Basheer emphasized the value of stepping outside one’s comfort zone, while Dr. Ahmed Hamdy provided practical perspectives on embracing cultural differences, using Malaysia as an example.
Adding to these academic insights, two returning exchange students shared their personal experiences, reflecting on the challenges they faced, the opportunities they embraced, and the ways in which studying abroad shaped their academic and personal lives.
To ensure students left with clear next steps, Dr. Rand Alhashimie presented detailed information about upcoming exchange opportunities, including eligibility requirements and the application process. The program concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students were able to engage directly with the speakers and clarify their concerns.
The seminar, well-structured and interactive, not only inspired students but also equipped them with the knowledge they need to pursue international study opportunities. It highlighted TIU’s commitment to fostering global readiness and cross-cultural understanding among its students.
