TIU Delegation Pays Official Visit to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Erbil
On Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President of Tishk International University (TIU), and Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of the International Relations Office, conducted an official visit to the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Erbil. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Maciej Zajdel, Consul General of the Republic of Poland.
During the meeting, the TIU representatives extended their sincere congratulations to Mr. Zajdel on his new appointment as Consul General and conveyed their best wishes for success in his diplomatic mission.
The TIU delegation highlighted the university’s desire to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation with Polish higher education institutions. They requested the Consul General’s support in fostering partnerships between TIU and leading Polish universities, particularly in facilitating the renewal of previously signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw.
Furthermore, TIU extended a formal invitation to Mr. Zajdel to participate in upcoming academic, scientific, and cultural events hosted by the university, emphasizing the importance of enhancing bilateral academic engagement.
In response, Consul General Mr. Maciej Zajdel expressed his gratitude for the visit and affirmed his readiness to support the development of academic linkages between TIU and universities in Poland. He also welcomed the opportunity to attend TIU’s future events. The Consul General noted that the consulate is currently awaiting the updated MoUs from TIU in order to proceed with facilitating their renewal.
This visit marks another significant step in TIU’s ongoing efforts to expand its international collaborations and strengthen its global academic partnerships.
