TIU Delegation Pays Official Visit to the Consulate General of the of Hungary in Erbil
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 1:30 PM, Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu- Orabi, the President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President of Tishk International University (TIU), and Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of the International Relations Office, conducted an official visit to the Consulate General of the Republic of Hungary in Erbil. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Tivadar Gergely Takacs, Consul General of Hungary.
The TIU delegation highlighted the university’s desire to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation with Hungarian higher education institutions. They requested the Consul General’s support in fostering partnerships between TIU and leading Hungarian universities.
In response, Consul General Tivadar Gergely Takacs expressed his gratitude for the visit and affirmed his readiness to support the development of academic linkages between TIU and universities in Hungary. He also focused on accepting Hungarian students by the Tishk International University.
In turn, the key officials at the Tishk International University and the Head of the Board of trustees accepted the idea and provide fully funded scholarship for the students who are willing to pursue their studies in TIU.
This visit marks another significant step in TIU’s ongoing efforts to expand its international collaborations and strengthen its global academic partnerships.
