Tishk International University Hosts Economic Consultant to the Austrian Embassy
As part of its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and international cooperation, Tishk International University (TIU) welcomed Ms. Lusan Gardi, Economic Consultant to the Austrian Embassy – Commercial Section, Iraq (Erbil), on February 1, 2026.
The visit aimed to strengthen institutional relations between TIU and academic institutions in the Republic of Austria and provided a valuable platform for constructive dialogue on potential areas of collaboration. During the meeting, an overview was presented highlighting the development and academic progress of Tishk International University, followed by in-depth discussions on prospects for cooperation with Austrian universities. Both sides expressed their mutual interest in enhancing academic partnerships and expanding collaborative initiatives in the future.
The meeting was attended by senior representatives of Tishk International University, including Assistant Professor Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees; Professor Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of the University; Assistant Professor Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President; and Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of the International Relations Office.
Ms. Lusan Gardi represented the Austrian Embassy’s Commercial Section in Erbil and emphasized the importance of fostering academic and institutional cooperation between Austrian and Iraqi higher education institutions.
