Tishk International University and Effat University Signed Memorandum of Understanding in Virtual Ceremony

Tishk International University (TIU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Effat University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during an official virtual signing ceremony held on May 18, 2026.

Effat University is a private non-profit institution located in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established in 1999 under the patronage of Queen Effat Al-Thunayan Al-Saud, the university is recognized as one of the leading higher education institutions for women in the region. Effat University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, architecture, business, humanities, and design.

During the meeting, both universities presented their academic achievements, international activities, and future visions for cooperation. Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi introduced Tishk International University and its academic developments, while Effat University presented an introductory video highlighting its colleges, programs, and international engagement activities.

The meeting also included discussions on the practical mechanisms for implementing the articles of the Memorandum of Understanding. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening academic collaboration through student and staff exchange programs, joint scientific research, academic mobility, organizing international conferences and workshops, and conducting collaborative academic and cultural activities between the two institutions.

Representing Tishk International University at the ceremony were several distinguished academic leaders, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President; Prof. Dr. Faiq H.S. Hussain, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences; Prof. Dr. Bayan Salim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Asst. Prof. Dr. Dogan Ozdemir, Dean of the Faculty of Education; alongside department heads and faculty members.

Effat University’s delegation included prominent academic officials headed by Prof. Dr. Haifa Reda Jamal Al-Lail, President of Effat University, accompanied by deans, department chairs, and representatives from the International Affairs Office.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, both parties expressed their commitment to establishing a productive long-term partnership that would contribute to academic excellence, internationalization, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two universities.

 

This partnership reflects TIU’s continued commitment to expanding its international academic relations and enhancing global collaboration with reputable higher education institutions worldwide.
