Tishk International University Hosted Delegation from the French Embassy in Baghdad

Tishk International University (TIU) hosted Ms. Pauline Lapointe, Attachée for Higher Education and Scientific Research at the French Embassy in Baghdad, along with Mr. Yadikar Kouja, Head Office of Campus France at the French Institute in Erbil, during an official visit held on May 19, 2026, at the university’s main campus.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of TIU; Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President; Asst. Prof. Dr. Fatih Cura, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs; and Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of the International Relations Office.

The visit commenced with an official reception followed by a presentation introducing Tishk International University, its academic programs, international activities, research achievements, and future development plans. The French delegation was also introduced to TIU’s growing international partnerships and its commitment to enhancing global academic cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for future collaboration in higher education and scientific research. The discussions focused on promoting academic exchange programs, strengthening cooperation with French universities and institutions, supporting student mobility, and encouraging participation in joint academic and cultural activities including promoting French language and other cultural activities.

This visit highlights TIU’s ongoing efforts to expand its international collaborations and create new opportunities for students and academic staff through global partnerships.
