Tishk International University Participates in International Rail Transit Seminar in China
The International Relations Office (IRO) at Tishk International University (TIU), in coordination with the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, has facilitated TIU’s participation in the Seminar on Rail Transit Building and Operation Management for the Belt and Road Countries, which will be held from July 10 to July 23, 2026, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.
As part of this international initiative, Dr. Safwan Mawlood, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, has been nominated to represent Tishk International University and participate in the program.
The seminar is organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China**, in cooperation with Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU). Bringing together participants from Belt and Road countries, the program is designed to promote professional knowledge exchange and international cooperation in rail transit development. Key topics include transportation planning, railway construction and management, integrated passenger transport hubs, railway operations, and infrastructure development. The program also incorporates expert-led lectures, thematic discussions, laboratory-based learning, professional exchanges, and field visits.
The participation reflects the continued efforts of TIU’s International Relations Office to create meaningful international opportunities for the university’s academic community, support professional and institutional capacity building, and strengthen engagement with international partners. Through its cooperation with the Chinese Consulate and academic institutions in China, TIU remains committed to fostering knowledge exchange, developing global partnerships, and expanding opportunities for its academic staff to engage in internationally recognized programs.
