Tishk International University Participates in French National Day Celebration in Erbil
Tishk International University (TIU) participated in the official celebration marking the National Day of the French Republic (Bastille Day), held in Erbil on Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026. The university was represented by Dr. Mohammed Abdulgani, Dean of the Deanery of Students, and Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of the International Relations Office.
The event was attended by senior officials of the Kurdistan Regional Government, diplomats, foreign representatives, military commanders, and prominent political figures from the Kurdistan Region, reflecting the significance of the long-standing partnership between France and the Kurdistan Region.
During the ceremony, representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government congratulated the people and government of France on their National Day and expressed appreciation for France’s continued friendship and support. They emphasized the shared values of liberty, equality, and fraternity, highlighting the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in political, cultural, educational, and economic fields.
The French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region also addressed the audience, reaffirming France’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the Kurdistan Region despite current regional challenges. He highlighted the progress achieved in education, culture, civil security, and economic cooperation, including the development of French international schools, the activities of the French Institute, and initiatives aimed at expanding trade and investment between France and the Kurdistan Region.
TIU’s participation in this distinguished diplomatic event reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to fostering international partnerships, strengthening academic and cultural cooperation, and engaging with the diplomatic community.
