Tishk International University Strengthens Academic Cooperation with the University of Tripoli through the Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding

As part of its ongoing commitment to expanding international academic partnerships and enhancing cooperation with leading higher education institutions across the Arab region, Tishk International University (TIU) successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Tripoli, Libya, during the official visit of Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, President of Tishk International University, to the University of Tripoli on July 15th 2026.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Khalid Alon, President of the University of Tripoli, where both sides discussed opportunities for strengthening academic collaboration and promoting institutional partnerships that serve the mutual interests of both universities.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Rathwan Bilqasim, Director of International Cooperation at the University of Tripoli; Prof. Dr. Mahmood Aldik, Advisor to the President of the University of Tripoli; and Prof. Dr. Hussein Marjeen, President of the Libyan Association for Quality and Excellence in Education and a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab International Foundation for Educational Development, whose dedicated efforts played a significant role in strengthening communication and fostering cooperation with higher education institutions in Libya.

The discussions culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a framework for long-term collaboration between the two universities. The agreement encompasses a wide range of academic initiatives, including faculty and student exchange programs, joint research activities, academic collaboration, and the exchange of expertise and best practices in higher education. This partnership reflects the shared vision of both institutions to enhance academic excellence, internationalization, and innovation through collaborative engagement.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu-Orabi, in his capacity as Former President of the Association of Arab Universities and President of the Arab International Foundation for Educational Development, emphasized the vital role of regional academic organizations in advancing higher education across the Arab world. He highlighted their contribution to fostering joint initiatives, establishing strategic partnerships, and promoting collaborative projects that strengthen academic integration and support sustainable educational development among Arab universities.

This agreement represents another significant milestone in Tishk International University’s strategy to expand its international network of academic partnerships and reinforce its position as a leading institution dedicated to excellence, innovation, and regional and global cooperation in higher education.
