TIU Hosts the Kurdistan Accrediting Association for Education (KAAE)
As part of its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and professional development, Tishk International University (TIU) welcomed a delegation from the Kurdistan Accrediting Association for Education (KAAE) on January 11, 2026.
The meeting aimed to strengthen institutional collaboration between TIU and KAAE, with a particular focus on academic, scientific, and quality assurance initiatives. The visit provided an important platform for dialogue on accreditation standards, quality enhancement, and future cooperation.
Tishk International University was represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees; Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ozdemir, Academic Vice President; Mr. Dana Shamsaddin, Director of the International Relations Office; Ms. Rasha Alkabbanie, Director of ISO and Accreditation; and Ms. Ala Tahsin Mohsin, Director of Quality Assurance and Promotions. The KAAE delegation included Dr. Honar Issa, Acting President and Secretary General, and Dr. Dilan Majid Rostam, Director of the Commission on Higher Education.
The Kurdistan Accrediting Association for Education is a national accreditation body established by the Kurdistan Regional Government under legislation enacted in June 2022. Its mandate is to enhance the quality of education through comprehensive evaluation and accreditation processes grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, academic excellence, and transparency.
During the meeting, Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih delivered a presentation highlighting TIU’s recent achievements, with particular emphasis on the university’s progress in securing international accreditation certificates. The presentation was met with strong appreciation from the KAAE delegation. In turn, the KAAE representatives outlined the association’s mission, activities, and accreditation procedures, providing valuable insights into national quality assurance frameworks.
The visit concluded with a commemorative group photograph, symbolizing the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing quality higher education. This event further reflects Tishk International University’s dedication to fostering strategic partnerships and supporting continuous academic and professional development.
